Job Title: Data Governance Manager (Banking)

The Skills You'll Need: Good Data Governance experience in the UK. Good understanding of data governance principles and Proficient in MS Excel. Degree in relevant field (Information Management, Computer Science, etc.)

Your New Salary: up to £70k, possibly higher, depending on experience + bonus

Report to: Head of Data Governance

Job Status: Permanent. Hybrid working (4 days in the office)

Data Governance Manager - Summary:

  • Providing support for data governance initiatives.
  • Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of data governance polices
  • Supporting collaboration between teams for effective data management

Data Governance Manager - What You'll be Doing:

Process

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining data governance policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to teams to help them understand and comply with data governance standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address data governance issues.
  • Participate in data quality assessments and support initiatives to improve data quality.
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining documentation related to the data governance process.
  • Assist in conducting training sessions to train teams on data governance best practices.
  • Collaborate with ITD to facilitate the implementation of data governance tools and technologies.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs related to data governance activities.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Comply with all applicable regulations, rules, codes, guidelines and standards set by regulators and the Bank, and carry out duties with high integrity.
  • Adhere to all established risk control guidelines, procedures and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate and monitor the risks involved in the day-to-day work.

Data Governance Manager - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:

Essential Skills

  • Degree in relevant field (Information Management, Computer Science, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a support role or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of data governance principles and a willingness to learn.
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiar with T24, SQL and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the finance industry.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Fluency in Cantonese would be an advantage
