- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans
- Manage and optimise supply chain operations
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and vendors
- Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations
- Manage risk within the supply chain
- Implement cost saving and process improvement strategies
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders on procurement needs
- Provide procurement and supply chain expertise to the council
Profile
A successful Interim Strategic Procurement Manager should have:
- A degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Prior experience in strategic procurement and supply chain management
- Knowledge of public sector procurement regulations
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage relationships with suppliers
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
