Childcare Assessor / Tutor
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Salary: £28k - £32k (DOE) + Excellent Benefits
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Monday - Friday
The Client:
Our client is an experienced independent training provider, offering apprenticeships, bespoke training, and skills qualifications.
The Role:
As a Childcare Assessor / Tutor, you will deliver and assess Residential Childcare qualifications from entry level to Level 5.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate distance learning through an online portal.
- Teach functional Skills sessions in Maths and English.
- Maintain accurate records and track learner progress for quality assurance.
- Prepare and assess assignments in line with organisational and awarding body standards.
- Conduct regular learner progress reviews with learners and employers.
- Attend standardisation meetings and respond to IQA feedback.
- Participate in teaching, learning, and assessment observations.
- Assist in external quality assurance preparations and inspections.
- Contribute to learner recruitment and provide guidance.
- Deliver developmental feedback to learners for career progression.
- Conduct Health & Safety vetting reports on employer premises.
- Meet KPI targets as agreed with the Learning & Development Team Manager.
Requirements:
- Previously worked for at least 1 year as an Assessor or in similar role in a residential childcare.
- Vocational experience and up-to-date sector knowledge.
- Background in supporting learners aged 16+.
- Recognised Teaching (e.g., PTLLS, Certificate in Education) and Assessor (e.g., D32/33, A1, CAVA) qualifications.
- Skilled in Maths, English, and ICT at Level 2 or equivalent.
- Ideally have IQA Qualification (e.g., D34, V1) or willingness to working towards it.
- A-Level or equivalent qualification would e preferred.
- Valid UK driving license and own car.
