Job Title: VAT Consultant
Location: Sheffield with free parking
Salary: £24-£25k plus 25 days holiday + bank holidays, free parking and other benefits
Contract Details: Permanent, Full Time working Monday - Friday 9am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely VAT return declarations, reviewing purchase ledgers for proper VAT treatment.
- Manage new client projects from initial implementation, including registration applications to HMRC, and assist with internal procedures like preparing engagement letters and billing obligations.
- Collaborate with clients to identify and analyse key expenditures, and negotiate contractual changes with clients' customers, including Local Authorities.
- Communicate with clients, HMRC, and internal finance and marketing departments to efficiently resolve queries.
- Support senior team members during VAT health checks and client site visits, providing follow-up support as needed.
Requirements:
- A degree in Finance or Mathematics, or a relevant field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
