Hays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a Primary School based in Ellesmere Port as they are looking to recruit an experienced and reliable teaching assistant to support in the reception class. This is a long-term temporary contract starting in September 2024 and the school is easily accessible via public transport.
Your new role
In your new role as an EYFS Teaching Assistant within this single form entry school, you will be supporting in the reception class and work under the instruction of the reception teacher. You will support with general classroom management, ensuring that all learning materials and resources are effectively utilised, as well as behaviour management. You will support your new pupils on a 1:1 and group basis, offering learn through play, phonics sessions and assessments. You will promote an engaging and stimulating learning environment by actively asking for pupils' input, inturn promoting their social and emotional development.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with children and young people in the last 2 years, as well as:
- Previous experience with or expert knowledge of EYFS curriculum
- Experience using phonics (ideally jolly or RWI)
- An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in early years childhood studies is advantageous but not essential
