Shop Support Manager - 3 Months - Teddington

This is a fabulous opportunity with a long standing, Love Success client, for an immediately available candidate. Our client is a leading not for profit organisation who work collaboratively to fight for children to be able to make their mark on the world and build a better future for themselves.

Job title - Shop Support Manager.
Location - Teddington.
Duration - 3 months.
Hourly rate - £13.60 plus accrual of holiday pay.
Hours - 35 hour working week across 7 days - rota basis and not every weekend.

Your Role: As Shop Support Manager, you will provide focused support on defined areas of the business to enable the delivery of the shop's potential, working alongside the Shop Manager to understand the shop, community, and proposition.

You will be responsible for delivering on key areas of work to help drive the shop forward which could include community connection & engagement, stock generation, volunteer recruitment, induction & training, shop operations, commerciality, proposition & offer.

You'll also take on responsibility for day-to-day operations or leadership of the shop during the Shop Managers absence, providing key support and additional capacity to enable the shop's continued success.

You'll act as an ambassador for the brand and represent in the local community.

Your Key Accountabilities:

  • To help build a team of motivated and valued volunteers to ensure the effective running of the shop making regular use of and reference to our volunteer management system, policy and procedure, providing thorough induction & training.
  • To understand and support the management of operational efficiencies in the shop, making effective use of how to guides and best practice.
  • To understand the local community, actively generating engagement using best practice and tools provided, promoting the organisation acting as ambassador, and representing the Retail Team
  • To understand and support the shop proposition and offer, taking appropriate guidance from relevant tools, and helping generate engagement from the team and local community.
  • To demonstrate a commitment to effective and proactive risk management and compliance and other regulatory requirements as part of the role and as part of the wider Trading team, ensuring that all aspects are completed and addressed.
  • To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects commitment to safeguarding in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy.
  • To understand the Retail strategy and what that means for the business, taking a collaborative approach and maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues across the organisation, supporting peers and actively embracing and embodying culture, values and behaviours.
  • To be aware of the work, aims and objectives of the organisation and hold a commitment to its vision, mission and approach.

Skills & Experience:

  • Team Leadership experience within retail or charity retail
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build & maintain positive working relationships with a variety of people.
  • Self-motivated with a flexible, positive and resilient attitude, able to work at pace in a fast-moving environment.
  • Results driven with experience of working to targets.
  • Experienced and comfortable using a range of IT platforms including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as systems for the management of other areas (e.g. reporting, volunteer management)
