What you need – Role requirements

Occupational Therapist (Band 6 equivalent) to work in the TEC & Reablement Intervention Team within adult social services in North Somerset Council. The TRI team provide a short term therapy led, TEC first Reablement service for people within hospital discharge pathways and in the community. Role entails a varied caseload providing case management and specialist Occupational Therapy input alongside domiciliary care providers and care home staff (residential reablement). Day to day tasks include goal setting, discharge planning, equipment provision, specialist assessments and interventions including manual handling and seating risk assessments. TRI team promote values around innovation, risk enablement, empowering individuals and maximising independence. Candidates need to have some awareness of Technology Enabled Care devices and/or be willing to learn to utilise these within own practice. Main office base is the Town Hall in Weston- Super- Mare but service area covers whole of North Somerset so will need ability to travel for work. There are touchdown working spaces in across the county and some potential for home working but expectation to complete mostly visits to people's own homes and to care homes.
