Role: Maintenance Supervisor OR Maintenance Team Leader who is ready and looking for that next step up into a Maintenance Manager position
Salary: £50,000 to £52,000 per annum, depending on experience, private medical, life assurance, bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm
Location: Commutable from Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Newark on Trent, Cromford and surrounding areas

We are currently recruiting for a reputable and part of a global brand manufacturing company who are looking for a Maintenance Manager and will consider those working currently as a Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Team Leader that are looking for that next step up. While mainly focusing and being based on the one site, you will also be overseeing the engineering / maintenance department for another and much smaller factory elsewhere.

Responsibilities

To lead and manage the Maintenance Department, driving proactive and planned maintenance to the department by the correct and introduction of their new CMMS (computerised maintenance management system). You will be championing this and ensure the teams and engineers are integrating it to their every day working. You will be targeted to increase reliability, safety and performance of all manufacturing engineering processes effectively on time and to budget.

  • Lead and manage the Maintenance team and develop a successful, skilled, motivated, and an engaged team delivering maintenance excellence demonstrated by the departmental KPI's and the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Manage and set objectives for the team of Engineers/Fitters through personal development plans aligned to strategic objectives, talent management, succession plans and training.
  • Ensure health and safety rules and procedures are complied with, and lead by example in driving a continuous improvement approach to accident prevention and root cause analysis.
  • Investigate on-going and repetitive issues from root cause analysis and introduce solutions to stop these.
  • Full ownership of projects; new machinery & commissioning and refurbs.
  • Full ownership of your areas H&S assessments - Risk / CoSHH / Accident reporting - update weekly and roll out to the relevant staff.
  • LOTOTO Owner / Controller (Lock Out, Tag Out, Try Out).
  • Develop the Maintenance Department strategy to align with the Site and business objectives.
  • Respond to Maintenance Request Forms (MRF) prioritise.
  • Lead 'Continuous Improvement' and 'Right First Time' philosophies and develop a Lean manufacturing culture throughout the Engineering team.
  • Assess line engineering downtime and ensure it is fully analysed and actioned within agreed timescales in terms of repair, root cause analysis and re-design as and when necessary.

Requirements

  • Experienced Maintenance Team Leader or Maintenance Supervisor with a proven track record of delivering reliability and maintenance solutions in a fast-moving and manufacturing environment managing a team of multi-skilled engineers.
  • A true people manager who can encourage, lead and drive performance.
  • Qualified in Engineering; either mechanical or electrical or mechantronic or similar
  • Passionate, drive and ambition to be successful.
  • Must be H&S driven ideally NEBOSH qualified but minimum IOSH Managing Safely.
  • Excellent communicator and able to connect with all levels in the business with the ability to motivate your colleagues
  • Must be computer literate using Microsoft applications and experience using a computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Continuous improvement and lean qualification/experience would be desirable but not essential
