SHE Advisor

SHE Advisor, required for our client that are a Civil Engineering contractor based out of the head office on the south coast just working one day a week from their office and then site and meeting based the rest of the time. The Advisor will be joining a professional community and Environmental focussed company that deliver groundworks projects in the industrial, commercial, retails, residential, public and transport sectors.

SHE Advisor Position Remuneration

  • Salary £42k - £48k
  • Mentoring and coaching from the SHEQ Manager
  • 23 days annual leave + BH
  • £6k car allowance
  • Fuel card
  • Join a close friendly team in an office with a view
  • Predominantly visiting sites and attending meetings. Office based one day a week

SHE Advisor Position Overview

  • Involvement in development, implementation and monitoring of the Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • To advise and support management teams, employees, our clients, and supply chain members in all aspects of SHE
  • Monitor and review SHE performance against set standards and
  • Lead Incident/Accident & Near Miss Investigations, reporting on findings and lessons learnt.
  • Provide support to Contract Managers with development of Construction Phase Plans and Risk Assessments and Method Statements for works undertaken across the organisation
  • FORS inspections to be completed monthly

SHE Advisor Position Requirements

  • Strong soft skills are essential for this role.
  • A good communicator, written and verbal is key, with a mentoring approach on sites rather than an inspector
  • NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction or equivalent.
  • Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ level 5 Diploma
  • IOSH membership
  • Certified training in Environmental Management in Construction.
  • ISO 45001: 2018, ISO 9001: 2015 and, ISO 14001: 2015 internal auditor experience
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload.
  • Experience / knowledge of effective SHE management strategies and best practice.
  • Detailed knowledge of current SHE legislation and other industry requirements and their application in the workplace.
  • Flexibility to travel to sites
  • Full UK Driving License is essential.
