Job Title: Children's Residential Support Worker

Location: Maidstone, UK

Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time

Working Hours: Shifts, e.g., 37.5 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dedicated team as a Children's Residential Support Worker at our welcoming and supportive children's home.

Our children's home provides a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children and young people aged 8 - 17 years old who have experienced trauma, neglect, or other significant challenges in their lives. We are committed to creating a warm and supportive atmosphere where children can feel secure, valued, and empowered to thrive.

Role Overview:

As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to our young residents. You will work closely with a team of professionals to deliver a therapeutic approach, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social needs of each child are met. You will help create a positive and structured environment, supporting the children with their daily routines, education, personal development, and social activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, acting as a role model and advocate.
  • Support the development of care plans and contribute to the assessment and planning process.
  • Encourage and support children in daily living activities, including education, personal care, and recreational activities.
  • Promote positive behavior and manage challenging situations using a therapeutic approach.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in regular training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably in a residential or similar setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting and empowering children and young people.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
  • A full UK driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
