Reinsurance Technician

Do you have 2+ years' experience within Insurance? Are you looking for a role that will offer variety and full training? My client, a prominent player in the Lloyd's of London insurance market and one of the largest purchasers of reinsurance, is currently recruiting for a Reinsurance Technician to join their team.

As a successful candidate in this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate application of all relevant reinsurance recoveries to the reinsurance program. Your key duties will include handling day-to-day management of the reinsurance asset, completing necessary reporting requirements, and providing support in the ongoing development of the reinsurance function. What you will actually do -

  • Apply reinsurance recoveries to the reinsurance program
  • Prepare and distribute reinsurance netting down and large loss reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Sign off on monthly/quarterly reports
  • Generate comprehensive reports with detailed analysis on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Review, sign off, and submit collections and advice documents to brokers
  • Assist with Profit Commission, No Claims Bonus reviews, and Premium adjustments
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with brokers
  • Address reinsurer/broker queries promptly and accurately, including reviewing loss précis and reports
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address questions or concerns
  • Review and provide commentary on credit control reports, highlighting problematic losses and reinsurers
  • Ensure compliance with reinsurance regulations and policies
  • Support reinsurance audit work and preparation

What you will need -

  • 2+ years insurance experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong attention to accuracy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage workload
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships across various functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a willingness to improve processes
