Property Operations Manager

Posted by National Trust.

Summary

We're looking for a dynamic and passionate individual to lead a team of staff and volunteers in delivering our visitor operations over the next two years as Property Operations Manager for Blickling Estate.

We'd love to hear from you if you have experience of managing operations and are passionate about sharing heritage, nature and culture through the creation of amazing experiences which are accessible to everyone.

What it's like to work here

Blickling is a 4,600-acre estate in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, with the iconic red brick manor house and gardens at its heart. We take great pride in looking after our place, sharing and celebrating the stories of Blickling over a millennia.

The first owner of Blickling as we know it today was Sir Henry Hobart, a man known for his boldness and innovation in developing the estate. We are inspired by his approach and encourage teams to regularly share their ideas and try new things. Blickling is a home for creativity, innovation and exploration. It nurtures, connects and inspires.

What you'll be doing

You'll be leading the day-to-day operations of the estate, ensuring that we're warm and welcoming, safe and secure. This includes line management of a team including Visitor Experience and Welcome, Facilities and Business Services, and Volunteering and Community. You'll lead for exceptional everyday experiences for our visitors, health and safety and the smooth running of our visitor business.

As a key part of the Blickling Leadership Team, you'll have the support of other ambitious, creative, and collaborative colleagues, helping us to deliver our aims of welcoming everyone and putting conservation at the heart of all we do. You'll work closely with the General Manager and other teams to develop estate-wide strategies and long-term planning for our future.

This two-year fixed term role offers the opportunity to develop new approaches to the way we work as we start planning for exciting changes in our approaches to conservation, climate adaptation, access and visitor experiences.

Some weekend and bank holiday working are required, and we are interested in candidates looking for a regular weekend working pattern.
