IT Business Analyst

We are working on an exciting and pivotal role within a leading business, who are seeking a IT Business Analyst for their team.

The position is a crucial part of the Product Delivery Team, which handles technical project management, business analysis, and ensures all IT projects are designed, executed, and managed on schedule and within budget.

The broader IT Team oversees all IT-related aspects within the business, including User Support, Infrastructure, Network, Security, Product Delivery, Data Systems, and Development Teams.

Purpose of the Job

Understanding Business Objectives: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity by collaborating with stakeholders to understand the business goals and objectives. Analyze the business environment, industry trends, and internal processes to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Promote awareness of requirements across business units and identify inefficient systems and processes through data evaluation. Provide documented evidence of requirements and present effective solutions while understanding the rationale behind stakeholders' requests.

Process Review and Improvement: Lead the development of technical business processes and create system prototypes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Use skills such as process mapping and analysis to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies.

Communication & Collaboration: Work with the Product Delivery Team lead and the Projects and Development team to establish a robust Business Analysis process that aligns with the firm's Project Board and internal IT project processes.

Data Analysis and Decision Support: Use data analysis to provide insights that support decision-making during project scoping. Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to help stakeholders make informed decisions, assisting in strategic planning, risk assessment, and ensuring alignment with goals and strategies.

End-to-End Delivery: Ensure a strong Agile project management/delivery methodology is followed for all IT projects.

Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with firm members across various business areas to analyze and design projects, including initial documentation, periodic review during implementation, and technical governance throughout the project's lifecycle.
  • Work with the Test Lead to perform, evaluate, and communicate thorough quality assurance at every stage of project implementation.
  • Determine and develop user requirements for systems and projects to ensure maximum usability.
  • Partner with stakeholders across business units to develop analyses and documentation collaboratively, communicating effectively with operational, managerial, and executive teams as needed.
  • Continuously evaluate, analyze, and communicate requirements, maintaining processes and delivering monthly status reports to all relevant parties.
  • Author and update internal and external documentation, initiating and delivering requirements and documentation per Project Board processes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a Business Analyst at Lv4 qualification with ideally 2+ years of experience.
  • High proficiency in technical writing, including UML, Process Modeling, Wireframing, and Prototyping.
  • Proven ability to manage projects and user testing.
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics.
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant Microsoft applications, including Visio or similar.
  • Excellent team player with strong communication skills
