As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping our students overcome challenges, thrive, and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide essential support to our students. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies to support students' learning and emotional well-being.

Collaborating with teachers to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons, ensuring students' individual needs are met.

Supporting students in small group or one-to-one sessions, providing academic and emotional support.

Promoting positive behavior and social skills development through modelling and encouragement.

Assisting with the assessment and tracking of student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians.

Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters students' self-esteem, confidence, and independence.

Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEMH education.

Requirements:

Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable but not essential.

A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

A flexible and adaptable attitude, with the ability to respond to the individual needs of students in a dynamic environment.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Relevant qualifications in education or related fields are advantageous but not essential.
