Job Title: Equipment Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £36,000 per annum
Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Description:
As an Equipment Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and ensuring the safe operation of production equipment. You will support the equipment build and calibration teams, assist with apprentice training, and perform a wide range of tasks aimed at minimizing equipment downtime and improving efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and prioritize your workload effectively.
- Adhere to good health, safety, and housekeeping practices at all times.
- Support equipment build, calibration, and preventative maintenance teams.
- Assist in the training and development of apprentices.
- Identify and implement preventative maintenance needs to ensure equipment reliability.
- Perform regular scheduled safety inspections and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, performing reactive maintenance when necessary.
- Assist in sourcing spare parts and establishing stock levels for equipment.
- Fabricate mechanical components as required for equipment repairs.
- Suggest and implement equipment improvements to enhance performance and safety.
- Provide technical support to production engineers regarding equipment issues.
- Help produce risk and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessments.
- Identify equipment that requires replacement and contribute to capital budget planning.
- Provide regular progress updates to the management team.
Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Completed technical/engineering/electrical/electronic apprenticeship.
- HNC qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good understanding of health, safety, and housekeeping practices.
- Ability to work from detailed technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and budget constraints.
- Strong electrical/electronic fault-finding skills.
