About the role:

We are currently recruiting a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager to join our team. This role is designed for an individual eager to engage, develop, and on-board public sector organisations across the UK.

The Account Manager will work to on-board, manage and grow a combination of Local Government, Central Government, Healthcare and not-for-profit customers. A successful account manager builds relationships that put the customer at the core of everything they do, whilst collaborating with the patch-allocated Account Director and Sales Support to maximise wallet share and achieve their Sales Target and performance KPIs.

We are looking for a team player with the ability to work independently. A positive 'can-do' attitude and brilliant communication skills are also key for this role. Must have excellent attention to detail, high standards and quality of work and be able to adapt to different working styles.

Experienced Salesperson within the IT Channel

  • Enthusiasm for relationship management and lead generation
  • Proactive management of public sector customers and responding to customer queries in a timely manner
  • An understanding of the UK IT distribution and vendor channel
  • Alignment to Academia's values
  • Meet and exceed key performance indicators
  • Conducting detailed quarterly business reviews
  • Ability to work closely with an Account Director to execute agreed account plans

Influential with a strong work ethic

  • Capable of building strong internal cross-functional relationships
  • A capable influencer who can build a successful internal network to achieve account plan priorities
  • Prior experience in delivering engaging presentations to (middle management IT professionals)

Responsibilities :

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales for Commercial & Public Sector but also working closely with the Account Director team and wider Academia business units to ensure customer satisfaction, project deadlines are hit and targets are achieved. The Account Manager will be responsible for managing and expanding business within a prospective account patch and collaborating with the Account Director to maintain and onboard organisations within the aligned Academia portfolio of accounts.

  • Communication between Academia and other partners
  • Presenting themselves as the main contact for your own prospective customers and growing Academia wallet share in these clients
  • Forecasting and supporting accurate pipeline reporting to management
  • Utilise our CRM system to develop and manage pipeline and produce pipeline reports for internal stakeholders
  • Completing regular customer meetings to ensure continuous provision of exemplary Academia Service to current and prospective customers
  • Building relationships with vendor Account Managers to collaborate and win business together.
  • Supporting aligned Account Director and Sales Support teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Owning the quoting and ordering process
  • Pulling together commercials for tenders and RFQ's
