HGV Class 1 driver required. My client is a leading provider of crane hire based in the North West and they are currently looking for a class one driver to work out of their Widnes depot. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and the relevant qualifications. The candidate must be within a commutable distance of Widnes and it would be advantageous to have past experience in heavy haulage.
This role requires an HGV class 1 licence
HGV Class 1 Driver Position Overview
- Ensure materials are loaded and unloaded safely, securely, and in compliance with regulations
- Perform daily checks and routine maintenance on the vehicle to ensure it remains in good working condition.
- Adhere to all company health and safety regulations
- Loading and unloading cargo including plant and ballast for the cranes
- Complete all necessary paperwork and records accurately and timely.
- Assist with other site duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented attitude
- Good planning skills to plan your route and day efficiently
- With this role there will be the need to stay out some nights but this will be paid for.
HGV Class 1 Driver Position Requirements
- Class 1 licence essential
- 2 years minimum experience driving class 1 vehicles
- Previous experience in a similar role beneficial
- Strong communication and organisational
- CPC Card essential
- Good time keeping
- Must be willing to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month
- Flexibility within the hours of the role and occasional stay away
HGV Class 1 Driver Position Remuneration
- £16-£17 an hour
- 10-hour day (8:00-6:00)
- 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
- Over time available
- Pension
