We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Personal Healthcare Assistant to join our educational team. This role is crucial for providing tailored support to students, including those with specific medical needs such as diabetes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing student well-being and educational outcomes.

Personal Healthcare Assistant
Job Type: 4 days a week
Location: Harrow
Salary: £16 per hour

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Offer personalised support to individual pupils or small groups to enhance their educational and personal development.
  • Aid in the creation and organisation of educational materials and classroom settings.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to track student progress and contribute to individualised learning strategies.
  • Promote student autonomy, self-assurance, and active participation within the learning environment.
  • Provide specialised support for students with additional educational needs, including administering medication and managing diabetes care.
  • Act as a liaison among students, educators, and parents as needed.
  • Uphold the school's policies, including those related to safeguarding, confidentiality, and health care protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an educational setting.
  • Appropriate educational or related qualifications.
  • Trained in diabetes care and administering medication.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A patient and empathetic approach with a positive outlook on student growth.
  • Teamwork skills, with the ability to work in harmony with teachers and school staff.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development.
