Derivatives Risk Analyst

As a Derivatives Risk Analyst on the Hedging & Risk team, you will evaluate and structure hedging contracts to mitigate the risk arising from physical commodity transactions. Achieving by considering the instrument offered by- London Metal Exchange / London Bullion Market Association / Foreign Exchange / Over The Counter instruments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor hedge books to ensure they are fully updated
  • Advise the necessary trades required to mitigate the price risk as well as working
  • closing with the team to discuss and devise strategies
  • Identifying and analysing risks related to price volatility in metal commodities such as copper, aluminium, steel.
  • Ensure previous trades are accurately recorded as per the execution
  • Evaluate and structure various hedging contracts
  • Work with the back-office operations to assist and take part in the back-office
  • functions to and to develop a greater understanding of the complete operations.
  • Analyse market information and stock positions to support commercial and financial
  • Maintain strong client relations as well as providing external hedging services
  • Understand all aspects and stages of the physical contracts
  • Ensuring all hedging activities comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Staying informed about changes in regulations and industry standards related to commodity trading and hedging

Skillset Requirements

  • 2 + years of risk/hedging experience
  • Sharp understanding of various hedging derivations (Options, forwards, futures and Swaps)
  • Ability to work within a team, with team first approach
  • Candidate with a Mathematics/ Finance background preferred
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • Self-motivated & detail oriented, capable of executing complex analysis.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to conduct effective research
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and other web-based skill

Package:

Salary- Competitive Market Rate + Discretionary Bonus + Benefits (Pension, life Assurance, Medical)

Hybrid working model- 3 days in Office
