Accounts Assistant

Are you an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual with a talent for numbers? Our client, an established organisation in the finance industry, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team. If you thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Salary: Up to £24,500 per annum depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, with the possibility of later working on Wednesdays for 1 hour (time back provided).

Location: Chester city centre. Hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum requirement of 3 days in the office.

Responsibilities:

  • Extracting payroll reports from the system for balancing checks
  • Updating the purchase ledger
  • Reconciling debtor ledger
  • Managing Quickbooks payments
  • Conducting bank reconciliations to Quickbooks
  • Handling payroll reconciliations
  • Generating Excel reports for various departments
  • Assisting with HMRC reporting administration and reconciliation
  • Supporting in the preparation of VAT returns
  • Providing general ad-hoc administration support

Skills Required:

  • Ability to work with speed and accuracy
  • Reliability with a self-starting attitude
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, busy working environment
  • Strong team player, able to work to tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel, including formulas and formatting
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks is desirable but not essential
  • AAT trainee (or equivalent) qualification is desirable but not essential
  • Payroll knowledge is a plus
