SEN Mentor

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our students aged 11-16 with various needs, including autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the SEN department to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Utilize proactive and engaging methods to bring out the best in each student, helping them achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting strategies as necessary to meet their evolving needs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEN education.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with SEN students, particularly those with autism, SEMH, MLD, and SLD.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting SEN students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and personal professional growth.

Employment Details:

  • This is a temp-to-perm role, initially working through an agency for 2-4 weeks. Upon successful completion of this period, a permanent contract will be offered.
  • Competitive remuneration based on experience and qualifications.
