Junior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a leading construction company based in Ingatestone, Essex. They are committed to delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including residential and commercial. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in Cost Management:

  • Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in preparing and maintaining project budgets.

  • Assist in cost estimation, cost planning, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Conduct cost analysis for project work, ensuring value for money is achieved.

  • Tendering and Procurement:

  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets, and bills of quantities.

  • Help evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing.

  • Contract Administration:

  • Assist in the management and administration of construction contracts.

  • Prepare and process interim and final payments for contractors and subcontractors.

  • Site Visits and Inspections:

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work is progressing as per contract specifications.

  • Assist in measuring and valuing the work done on-site.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Assist in preparing regular reports and updates for management and clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Some experience in a similar role or relevant internship experience is preferred.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
