Philanthropy Officer

Posted by The Royal British Legion.

The Royal British Legion holds a special place in the hearts and minds of generations of people in society. As the largest military charity in the UK, it has provided support to members of the Armed Forces community for over 100 years.

Today is no different. The needs of veterans, young and old, serving personal and their families are growing. To support them we must raise awareness and secure donations, and that is where you could come in.

We are looking for a Philanthropy Officer to help support the delivery of RBL's Mid-Value programme, encouraging support from new and existing donors who tend to give more than our average supporter. Ultimately aiming to increase and maintain these donor relationships and deliver cash growth in the short term and encourage legacy pledges in the longer term.

You will join a small but dedicated team within the larger Fundraising department. We are looking for someone who enjoys building long-term sustainable relationships, is confident in writing thank you letters and speaking directly to supporters either over the phone or face to face at RBL's events.

Working at RBL, you will be encouraged and supported in all you do. Full training on all systems will be provided. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the leading Armed Forces charity and help to deliver our evolving donor relationship programmes that ensure strong relationships today and provide longer term opportunities to help fund our much-needed services in the years ahead.

This role will involve hybrid working, travelling on some days (minimum of 2 per week) to our Head Office, which is located at Haig House, 199 Borough High Street, London SE1 1AA, and working from home on other days.

For more detailed information about the role, please see our Vacancy Information Pack attached to our direct advert.

RBL is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organisation, reflecting the diversity of the armed forces community and of wider society. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and personal characteristics and aim to operate an inclusive recruitment process.

We may close this vacancy early if we believe we have enough strong applications to be able to successfully fill the role(s). Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
