Your background may be as an electrical fitter in installations or from a maintenance engineering background with electrical bias as the skills are easily transferrable. They are also willing to provide training, for the right individual looking to develop a career such as this, if you already have some base electrical experience/qualifications and are keen to develop a career.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an Installation & Commissioning Engineer to work on exciting projects within the business.

As a member of the Engineering team, your role involves installation and commissioning of capital equipment used within a variety of industrial settings.

This is a varied role that would include:-

  • Installation, Commissioning, and testing of capital equipment used within a variety of industrial settings, on customer sites, this will be within the UK and occasionally overseas (fully expensed and considerable additional pay arrangements) (Only occasional travel which can be explained on application).
  • Offering Customer support while working on site and provide remote and onsite technical support for customers as and when required once the installation and commissioning is complete.
  • Carry-out factory final assembly and strip-down and shipping preparation activities in line with production and customer deadlines.
  • Inspection, fault diagnosis, servicing, and repairs on industrial / capital equipment under the direction and support of the engineering team using authorised processes and technical information.
  • Working with customers to achieve system functionality sign-off.
  • Fully training operators in the use and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and presenting these to team members and participate in internal design reviews on existing or potential projects.
  • Assist in the development of Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) for work undertaken.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Installation, testing, and commissioning of capital equipment experience or background as a Maintenance Engineer.
  • Electrical Testing and Fault Finding
  • Engineering qualification (degree / HND / BTEC) or relevant trade Apprenticeship. Or be qualified by experience.
  • The role requires mostly electrical fitting skills, but you may be multi-skilled with electrical bias. Mechanical experience can be picked up in the line of duty
  • Electrical work will involve Fault Finding, industrial wiring, trunking, wiring runs, cable routes, wiring motors and control panels (experience in all of these areas not essential as training can be given)
  • CSCS / ECS card desirable but not essential.
