Job Purpose: Lead the finance function, developing and maintaining a high performing finance team and ensuring that financial systems, processes and controls fit the needs of an ambitious, growing business, including all aspects of financial control, reporting, and tax
- Encourage and develop the finance team to engage with business stakeholders
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business context and internal customer needs so that we can proactively serve the business
- Oversee all financial control activities, e.g. month-end close process, preparation and review of management accounts, Taxation, Group Consolidation, Cash Management, FX req's
- Improve finance & business processes
- Manage the company's financial reporting processes and financial reports
- Lead the preparation of the statutory accounts, and manage the year end audit process
- Develop and maintain financial controls
- Manage the Company's tax affairs and use of external tax advisors
Essential experience for the role:
- Proven people management experience - both developing people and managing change
- Someone who possesses a calm, positive and pragmatic approach to leadership
- Clear communicator
- Someone who can oversee without micromanaging
- A curious manager without blame who can steer people in the right direction
- Overseen transactional finance as well as accounting (AP, AR, payroll)
- Process improvement experience
- Experience of managing the year end audit process
Ideal experience (not essential):
- Worked within a company that handles the movement of physical goods
- Experience of transfer pricing
- Group company experience
