Head of Lettings

A fantastic opportunity to join the number one estate agency in the heart of Taunton as the Head of Lettings. The Head of Lettings is at the forefront of their lettings operation managing the property portfolio and leading its dedicated team. You will be responsible for driving forward the lettings business in the local area as well as coaching the team to meet and exceed client expectations. You will set the working practice standards for the lettings team and ensure you are all up to date with all lettings related legislation.

The role includes the promotion and marketing of the department to not only maintain but also increase the annual turnover and profit margin and the maximising of cross division referral opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the lettings department
  • Lead, train, and motivate the lettings team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, tenants and contractors
  • Conduct property valuations and market appraisals
  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to attract new business and to be aware of future opportunities that will enable the department to continue to grow
  • Overseeing the handling of tenant enquiries, viewings, negotiations, and tenancy agreements
  • Managing regular inspections and property maintenance issues
  • Drive the growth and profitability of the lettings department
  • Ensure compliance with current lettings legislation and industry regulations

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential lettings, exceptional leadership skills and a passion for providing top-notch service to both landlords and tenants.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience in a busy lettings environment
  • Strong leadership and team-based skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office
  • ARLA / Propertymark qualification
  • Ensure compliance with all current lettings legislation and regulations
  • Full UK driving licence
