Our client, a well-established, multi-sited business are seeking a newly created permanent Financial Controller to join their Group Finance team based in High Wycombe on a hybrid basis.
Reporting into the Finance Director, typical responsibilities will be to:
- Reviewing and validating any significant transactions in advance to ensure that the proposed entries are complete, accurate and comply with US GAAP.
- Reviewing and approving journal entries for to ensure accuracy, valid business purpose and compliance with US GAAP.
- Ensuring timely completion and upload to the consolidation system in accordance with the timetable.
- Performing SOX review of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with both internal policies and US GAAP.
- Reviewing and validating the financial statements to identify any errors, omissions, or misstatements and prepare monthly commentary on the variances.
- Collaborating effectively with country finance and accounting teams and ensure that they are provided with any technical or other information required to complete period-end close processes that are timely, accurate, properly documented and comply with US GAAP and internal policies.
- Ensuring that any emerging issues or significant business transactions are assessed for accounting implications and communicated in a clear and timely manner to the relevant parties.
- Monthly checking of International Results to ensure successfully uploaded to the consolidation system and that all regions submit on time.
- Managing the production of all UK Holding companies annual financial statements in compliance with FRS102.
- Managing the audit process to ensure successful and timely completion.
- Managing the filing process to ensure timely and compliant submission to Companies House.
- For countries where external accountants prepare the annual financial statements, Luxemburg and Netherlands, reviewing and validating the reconciliation from the ERP system to the local statutory books and liaise with the accountants to ensure accurate and timely submission.
- Supporting the US Tax department with information and analysis as required.
- Managing the support provided to the UK tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate submission of holding companies tax returns.
- Supervising and mentoring a small team.
- Help to drive process improvement in processes, procedures and controls.
Suitable candidates must be qualified, and have previous experience in a similar Financial Controller role, ideally within a US owned international group. You should have skills in multi-currency transactions, staff management, month & year end close, process improvement, and be technically strong with GAAP, SOX and consolidations. Strong database management, systems and Excel skills are also important, as well as the ability to work cross functionally, building relationships.
In return our client is offering a salary £75,000-£90,000 (depending on your experience) plus bonus, hybrid working, good benefits which include an enhanced pension. There is onsite parking available.
