We are seeking an English Teacher to join our dedicated team in Caterham. This role comes with a £5,000 welcome bonus for qualified teachers* and involves delivering high-quality education to students aged 11 – 16 with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Autism.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons up to GCSE level, tailored to students with Autism, SEMH, and PDA profiles.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, including analysing outcomes and self-reflecting to continuously improve teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support student learning and well-being.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised targets to optimise each student's learning experience.
  • Assess, review, and report on student progress to parents, team members, and relevant bodies.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of the students.
  • Participate in the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
  • Provide a structured learning environment that maintains pace, motivation, and challenge.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English up to GCSE level.
  • Knowledge and experience with pupils with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Experience managing a range of behavioural approaches, including behaviours that challenge.
