Receptionist and Operations Coordinator - URGENT temporary starting Monday 16th September with strong possibility of temp to perm

We are seeking a Receptionist and Operations Coordinator to be one of the initial points of contact for our client, providing a professional, helpful, and friendly approach to all interactions. This role is pivotal in building positive ongoing relationships with phone callers, visitors, parents, and pupils. The successful candidate will offer a flexible, productive, and responsive administrative service, supporting the Senior Leadership Team in the smooth operation of the school.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Welcome, sign-in/out visitors and parents, ensuring a warm and professional reception.
  • Handle incoming phone calls and queries, directing them appropriately.
  • Manage the receipt and distribution of incoming goods and post.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks, including sending communications and minute-taking.
  • Administer the school's virtual learning platform and calendar, coordinating events and managing staff absences.
  • Liaise with staff to produce the termly clubs schedule and ensure compliance for external peripatetic clubs and staff.
  • Book staff on training courses and maintain records.
  • Serve as a qualified first aider to assist with unwell pupils.
  • Engage actively in school life, including event attendance and fulfilling duties as required by the timetable and cover arrangements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a receptionist or administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy reception area with a calm and organised approach.
  • Competency in using IT systems and office software.
  • Experience in diary management and event coordination.
  • First Aid qualification or willingness to train as a first aider.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
