About the Job

You'll have an important part to play working closely with the Transport team and alongside site leadership in embedding Operational Excellence and Digital technologies consistently. You will lead, coordinate, and deliver process improvement projects aligned to agreed business priorities.

As a Continuous Improvement Manager your primary focus will be to deploy Operational Excellence and Digital technologies into the Transport operation, delivering value to the business and positive outcomes measured through Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery indicators.

As part of your key responsibilities you'll:

  • Lead and deliver continuous improvement activities to improve performance and enhance driver capability in the use of Unipart Way tools and techniques
  • Deliver tangible and validated financial savings through Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Digital delivery
  • Utilise Operational Excellence and Unipart Logistics Digital tools to deliver ‘Right First Time' principles into transport
  • Learn, share and adopt best practice within the Logistics division and wider business
  • Work with site leaders in applying the Group OpEx and Digital standards consistently and as measured through the Group's internal auditing process
  • Act as mentor and coach for peers and high potential colleagues, ensuring there is a strong pipeline of succession
  • Support and coach Team Leaders and Managers with their personal development accreditation programmes, particularly OpEx elements where applicable

About You

  • Demonstrable experience in process improvement/continuous improvement/lean practitioner roles
  • Target/results driven with ability to cope with the demands of a fast-moving and ever-changing set of priorities
  • Assertive and competent in influencing stakeholders from shop floor to senior management
  • Customer and quality focused with an eye for detail
  • Analytical problem solver
  • Self-sufficient and motivated
  • Strong planning, organising and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and spoken)
  • Digitally savvy with a good understanding of Microsoft Office (particularly excel) Google Apps frameworks or similar
  • Hands on experience of working within a busy UK Road Transport and Freight Warehousing environment
  • A strong understanding of the UK Road Transport legislative environment with a keen appreciation of Construction and Use Regulations and DVSA Safe Loading Practices
