This role offers candidates significant exposure to product ideation and development within the heart of one of the UK and EU's fastest-growing sports recovery and fitness e-commerce brands.

About the Role:

As a Product Sourcing Associate at Pulsio, you will play a pivotal role in the ideation, development, and procurement of cutting-edge, technology-based recovery and wellness products, collaborating closely with the company founders. This role demands a blend of entrepreneurial thinking, project management, and strong negotiation skills.

You will be working closely with existing and new suppliers to manage product life cycles, being part of the journey from conception, bulk purchasing through to product launch.

Liaising with suppliers based in China, you will ensure that new product designs are innovative, cost-effective, and align with Pulsio's quality standards. Fluency in Mandarin is essential to facilitate complex discussions and maintain strong supplier relationships. In collaboration with the company founders, you will assist with the design, conception, and negotiation journey of products from concept to live on the store. Additionally, you will work closely with our internal team to accurately plan for and forecast future stock needs, ensuring timely order procurement and completion from suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with company founders on the development of new products from ideation to final production, focusing on innovative technology-based recovery and wellness solutions.
  • Work closely with Chinese suppliers to design and develop cutting-edge, cost-effective products, ensuring quality, material, pricing, and design align with company values.
  • Coordinate bulk order placements with Pulsio's stock planning team members, to maintain consistent stock levels in line with growth.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and analyse the key competitor landscape, utilising this information to inform the development of new or existing products.
  • Negotiate with manufacturers and suppliers in China to maintain competitive pricing.
  • Manage the end-to-end supplier relationship, including sourcing new suppliers, and maintaining ongoing communications across WeChat.
  • Oversee production processes to ensure compliance with quality control standards and timelines.
  • Implement and refine procurement strategies to optimise inventory levels and minimise supply chain disruptions.
  • Assist with the final stage of the product journey, including working with and sourcing renders/photography artists, packaging designers and product guides.
  • Assist with the management of the final product page creation for new products, including the procurement of marketing material such as photo shoots and product renders.
  • Provide input for continuous product improvement and innovation based on consumer feedback and sales data.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Cantonese is not a requirement, but is a bonus.
  • BSc or BA degree.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a business, sourcing or product development environment.
  • Experience negotiating with and managing suppliers.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting ideas and negotiating with founders and suppliers at all levels.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have right to live and work in the UK.
  • Ability to travel to Victoria, London based office.
  • Must speak proficient Mandarin.
  • Must have access to a live WeChat account.
