Job Title: Senior HR Manager Salary: up to £70,000 depending on experience Location: St Albans Contract: Permanent, full-time Hours: Full Time Monday- Friday (office flexitime arrangement is in place 8am-6.30pm, core hours are between 10am-4.30pm)

COMPANY PROFILE

An exciting opportunity to work for an established professional services business in the heart of St Albans are seeking an experienced Senior HR Manager to join their thriving team on a full-time permanent basis.

The goal of this role is to lead and manage the HR team of four, leveraging your expertise to ensure exceptional HR service delivery. You will oversee the daily operations of the HR team while serving as a primary point of contact for senior stakeholders throughout the organisation.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience with CIPD level 7 qualification
  • Previously has been responsible for an HR team and HR operations in a medium sized business
  • Very strong employee relations experience is essential, with demonstrable evidence of being capable and confident to resolve more complex and challenging cases
  • Experienced knowledge of employment legislation and its application
  • An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism, discretion and diplomacy is crucial
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy with minimal guidance, and as part of a team

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the HR team through the HR Manager, including the Early Talent team, focusing on graduate and apprentice recruitment, onboarding, and professional study.
  • Directly manages the HR Operations Administrator.
  • Supports employee management in Tax client groups and develops management capabilities
  • Provides key information to the HR Director, aligning HR operations with strategy.
  • Ensures HR data integrity and supports HR reporting and KPI establishment.
  • Oversees HR processes, absence management, employee benefits, and compliance with Data Protection legislation.
  • Manages payroll changes, salary benchmarking, and resource decision-making.
  • Leads recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning processes.
  • Advises on recruitment strategies and supports the candidate experience.
  • Acts as an HR Business Partner, advising on employee relations, employment law, and HR policy.
  • Manages complex employee relations cases, DEI, and Wellbeing activities.
  • Supports strategic HR projects, change management, and employee engagement initiatives.
