Accountant

I went out to this company, set in gorgeous countryside this morning, and met two really friendly and welcoming staff, who explained why they needed you. They are a small company but about to grow quite considerably and they need a Part Qualified or QBE Accountant, who can really add value to their systems and procedures, not least developing monthly management accounts. This is the interesting and varied job spec they gave me:

  • Sole responsibility for all aspects of the accounts including purchase and sales ledger and bank reconciliations. This is a stand alone role but in time, you may need to recruit staff to help with the transactional side.
  • Currently, they do not have monthly management accounts and it will be your job to develop these using Sage and Excel
  • Looking at areas, which might need further automation such as the purchase ordering system
  • Developing cashflows and budgeting further
  • You will have knowledge of project or job costing and be able to streamline what they currently have in this area
  • Monitoring of intercompany loans.
  • Assisting the Development Director to allocate costs across projects correctly.
  • Payroll for 6 people
  • Assisting with obtaining future funding for projects
