A well-established business that has been providing excellent IT support within the Education sector for over 20 years is looking for a Data Manager who can lead a small team of technicians and use their experience and knowledge to support the school's data needs.

The company specialise in transforming educational data into meaningful insights using industry-leading tools, offering their schools comprehensive data analysis solutions that support informed decision making and drive improved educational outcomes.

Along with a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, you will also receive 25 days annual leave (to be taken outside of term time), uniform, a mobile phone and laptop, pension scheme, free parking, sick pay, and a performance based annual bonus.

This is a permanent position and would suit someone who is looking to advance their career and work with a forward thinking, thriving and supportive company and help them expand and develop this new side of their company. The successful candidate must have their own car and be able to use this for travelling to all our schools if required. Mileage and parking costs will be paid by the company if employees are using their car for this purpose.

As Data Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending ARR (Academic Recording and Reporting) weekly meetings to set schedule of work and reporting on ad hoc jobs and other relevant issues when appropriate, as scheduled within the ‘Data Calendar'.
  • Develop functional expertise to allow the school's MIS to be used to meet the individual needs of different groups within the school such as Governors, Census, Parents and subject departments in line with the school's strategic direction and operational use of data.
  • Validating and checking exam set up prior to exam results release.
  • Providing reports with the school's MIS For the efficient review to Head Teacher, Governors and relevant departments.
  • Creating and maintaining reports within the school's MIS to allow school staff to access data in a form which suits their needs and analysis and meets the agreed calendar of events including mid-term, end of year and termly tracking.
  • Liaising with school's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to create an efficient recording structure.
  • Running school census prior to submission and report inaccuracies/missing information to owners.
  • Presenting census prior to submission to Head Teacher for review and understanding for submission and to be signed off.
  • Meeting with Senior Leaders within the school to share information about next academic year, staffing options, planned subjects and any changes moving forward.
  • Creating relevant spreadsheets of staffing roles and contracted hours to migrate to Timetabling software.

We're looking for a Data Manager with the following:

  • Previous experience in managing Schools' Data.
  • Experience with PowerBi, PowerBi Report Builder.
  • Knowledge of the English School Grade System, and UK Exams system and Awarding bodies
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets skills.
  • Previous experience in managing a team.
  • Working knowledge of utilising JavaScript or other coding languages to facilitate integrations with APIs for MIS related tasks including utilising JS in Google suite and Power Bi Report Builder.
  • Previous experience with schools MIS systems and integration into 3rd party software.

You will be working Monday-Friday, 08:30-16:30, with a 30-minute break.
