Description
Lancashire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Children with Disabilities team in East Lancashire. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality social work services to children with disabilities and their families, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are supported to achieve positive outcomes.
- Manage a manageable caseload, typically between 15 and 22 cases, depending on the specific function within the team.
- Work cooperatively with other professionals and agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that the needs of the child are central to all planning and decision-making.
- Embrace and apply strength-based approaches in all aspects of your work, contributing to the continued development and innovation within Lancashire County Council's Children's Services.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in line with departmental policies and procedures.
- Utilise flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home, while participating in team meetings and cooperative opportunities as needed.
- Adhere to all relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards in social work practice.
Requirements
- Must hold a relevant social work degree qualification.
- A minimum of 12 months of experience working with children and young people, preferably within the field of disabilities.
- Enhanced DBS.
- Access to own car and full UK driving license.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with disabilities and their families, with the ability to provide empathetic and effective support.
