Quality & Environment Manager - £40,000 - £50,000 - North West
As Quality & Environment Manager, your job purpose will be:
- To Manage, Maintain and Continually Improve the business Quality Management System (QMS). With scope to create an Integrated Management System. (IMS).
- Inclusive of all Audited Accreditations both current and what the business would like to develop in the future. (Current)ISO22716/9001, COSMOS, Soil Association and BRCGS Accreditations. (future) BCORP & ISOEN14001.
- Provide Leadership within quality & Environmental within the business to achieve world class standards in which personal accountability, responsibility, development of people, structured training and continual improvement are expected and delivered.
- Support Operations with the development of the team and delivering the company strategic plan.
- To Develop & Report on Quality& Environmental KPI's for business.
- To support the business goals in achieving and sustaining all current and future accreditation.
The Quality & Environment Manager reports to:
- Reports to the Operations Director
- Direct Reports. Quality Administrator, QC line support.
- Health Safety & Training Leader.
Job context & scope:
- Close liaison with Production and wider Business to ensure decisions that are made are correct and implementation support the business Goals and Objectives.
- Close liaison with warehouse and engineering department in quality relating issues.
- Role is critical for success, ensuring quality standards are set and maintained and that day-to-day quality standards are met, and any corrective actions are actioned.
The Quality & Environment Manager's Key Responsibilities:
- To maintain all current and future audit accreditations, making sure we are Audit ready. Devise and establish a company's quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Hands-on approach to delivering training & improvements to the business, make your mark, develop, and implement your Leadership style to the team.
- Review customer requirements and make sure they are met in conjunction with other managers.
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers, how we onboard and maintain standards, through questionnaire and external Audits.
- Set the standards for Quality as well as Environmental, establish us as a BCorp member drive the businesses Environmental approach.
- Establish ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency throughout the business.
- Set organisational sustainability targets, developing plans to meet those targets and oversee their delivery.
- Define when we are ready as a business to implement ISOEN14001, how are we going to do this?
- Define quality procedures through WI/SOPS in conjunction with the Operational team and wider business.
- Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports NCR's, KPI's
- Measure performance and identify any areas of weakness, recommending and implementing structured improvements.
- Liaise with other managers and staff and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards
- Change Management assess the effectiveness of changes made.
- Benchmark, where practicable make sure the company is working as effectively as possible to keep up with competitors/ industry standards.
- Train develop and manage your team and yourself
Quality & Environment Manager requirements:
- Quality/Management qualification (Required)
- Environmental Qualification (Advantageous)
- HACCP (Advantageous)
- Risk Management (Advantageous)
- Lean/ Six Sigma qualification (Advantageous)
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels within the business.
- Good basic standard of Mathematics & English
- Good understanding of Quality principles
- Competent user of Windows & Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Accuracy and an eye for detail.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills.
Technical/Professional Experience:
- FMCG company/environment
- Quality / Managerial/Supervisory experience.
- Bottle packing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing Tools/Techniques.
