About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious, award-winning Telecoms and IT Networking Managed Service Provider. This company is renowned for their comprehensive range of products and services in Telephony, IoT, and IT Networking (LAN/WAN) for both public and private sectors. Due to rapid expansion, they are seeking a Telecom Field Systems Engineer.
Role Overview:
As a Telecom Field Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the clients' telephony and data systems are installed, configured, and maintained for optimal performance and uninterrupted communication services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hosted telephony and networking equipment, including switches, routers, access points, and SD-WAN appliances.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of IT and telecom systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on field equipment.
- Test and verify telephony installations to uphold high-quality standards.
- Respond swiftly to service requests and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Perform network testing and performance evaluations.
- Provide technical support to clients and end-users.
- Document all field activities, including site visits, equipment installations, and maintenance tasks.
Required Skillset:
- In-depth knowledge of hosted telephony systems, protocols, and standards.
- Cabling expertise is advantageous.
- Electrical installation expertise is advantageous.
- Experience in telephony installation for hosted telephony systems is a bonus.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA are highly desirable.
- Preferred experience with Cisco Meraki, with extensive training provided.
- Excellent client interaction skills.
- Full driving license required, as the position is predominantly field based.
