The Lead Commercial Data Analyst - eCommerce Food position involves developing insights across all aspects of commercial performance, such as creating range assortments tailored to local customer needs, identifying new and high-performing products, managing pricing and promotions.
Key responsibilities of this Lead Commercial Data Analyst - eCommerce Food :
- Develop innovative measurement and analytical approaches to enhance understanding of performance and customers, integrating these insights into the Category team's daily decision-making processes.
- Support business's rapid growth by analysing extensive datasets to uncover insights that drive improvements in category performance
- Address complex business questions through detailed quantitative analysis and experimentation, providing meaningful and actionable insights.
- Serve as the primary UK liaison for central Analytics & Data Engineering teams to establish reliable and scalable data pipelines for managing and transforming necessary information.
- Create models and tools to inform pricing strategies, aiding Category Managers in maintaining a competitive edge while maximising margin opportunities.
- Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making by coaching and supporting teams to enhance their data literacy and confidence.
- Mentor and support other analysts in the team, helping them develop their skills and achieve excellent results.
Key requirements of Lead Commercial Data Analyst - eCommerce Food:
- Ideally having 5 years of experience in analytics or data science, preferably in grocery, trading, or consumer products.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and experiment design.
- Experience in a tech or eCommerce background is desirable
- Ideally a bachelor's degree or similar in, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline is advantageous.
- Expert proficiency in SQL and databases, with the ability to write structured and efficient queries on large data sets.
- Experience with dbt, Python or R, or GitHub is a plus.
- Development experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in Looker and LookML.
- Strong and confident communication skills, with expertise in data visualisation and storytelling.
