Billings & Collections Specialist

  • Once onboarded you will work 3 days in office and 2 from home
  • This is a Temp role which is ongoing
  • Lovely offices and super team to work with-FREE Parking
  • Location: Chertsey/Woking
  • Immediate start
  • Hours: Mon-Thur 8.30-5 (1 hr lunch) and Fri 8.30-4.30 (1hr lunch) = 37 hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximize receivable cash flow by maintaining a timely and professional collection process inaccordance with company policies and procedures for receivables, payment terms, provisions,collection policies and retention management.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships and accounts.
  • Ensuring that invoice details / applications are clear and accurate.
  • Follow up milestones to ensure advance payments are collected, that construction time-use and additional variations are billed.
  • Create invoicing once jobs and supporting documents checked and correct to bill in a timely manner.
  • Proactively supporting the regional teams with receivable goals and objectives.
  • Timely and accurate reporting within SAP and other operational management tools, and coordination of corrective action plans.
  • Attendance at Regional debt review calls to share information (opportunity and risks).
  • Resolving both internal and external queries/disputes.
  • Conducting collection calls in a structured way.
  • Requesting promises to pay from customers, where applicable recording them in the appropriate manner.
  • Ensuring proactive communication with operations teams to monitor receipt of customer.
  • Management of Final Account procedures including liaison with relevant departments including Contract Administration, Service and Project Support teams.
  • Providing reports and account information as required.
  • Ensuring that data security and confidentiality is always maintained to the highest degree.
  • Undertake other ad hoc assignments as and when required.

Skills & Experiences

  • Strong billing experience preferably related to managing project and/or by milestones.
  • Be customer focused, understanding the needs of customers and the importance of providing solutions to satisfy short and long-term objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly complex, diverse, changing environment, whilst adapting to change and maintaining focus on key business goals and objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel experience. SAP experience is desirable.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • A good team player.
  • Attention to procedures and guidelines.
  • Easily adapts to rules and supervision.
  • Works well under increasing time pressure.
  • Works in a well-organised manner and pays sufficient attention to details.
