We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Assistant to support the successful launch of our new Bardon Automated Distribution Centre. This role will work closely with our automation partner, as well as internal teams across Build, Operations, IT and National Supply Chain. The Project Assistant will play a key part in coordinating activities, tracking progress, and communicating between stakeholders. This role will be partly based on site, providing direct support during the implementation phase of the Programme.
Your New Role
- Assist and take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects within the National Supply Chain Management Department; working efficiently and accurately to ensure that project governance is adhered to
- Supporting the full life cycle of complex material handling equipment projects from pre-sales through to post implementation
- Responsibility for completion of end-to-end projects within the role, simplifying processes and operations to maximise efficiencies
- Ability to review on-site progress vs a project plan, possessing the skill to challenge and question the Automation Vendor aiding knowledge and transparency
- Manage multiple logistics projects and tasks, liaising with and managing internal and external stakeholders
- Responsibility for the processing and tracking of project action points and milestones
- Ensure projects meet time, budget and quality goals
- Ability to deal with invoices, and cashflow management
- Work with project teams and individuals to establish procedures, plans and practices that promote the adoption of appropriate solutions and ensure the sustainability of desired results
- Responsible for risk and issue identification and management, specifically around physical infrastructure challenges between the Automation Vendor and the base build structure
- Coordination of weekly programme meetings, project statuses, project plans and programme level business updates
- Use own initiative and suggest ways of improving processes for greater efficiency
- Ensure correspondence is treated in the strictest confidence when required
- Manage the efficient and accurate flow of correspondence and information, both incoming and outgoing, with internal and external parties
- Ensure a clear understanding of current actions, proposing/taking action where appropriate
- Support the delivery of the department strategy as required
- Advanced standard of MS Tools including Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel (including ability to use VLOOKUPS, PIVOT Tables and IF Statements)
- Take full share of responsibility of collective tasks which are organised on a rota basis
- Ensure that a polite and professional manner is maintained in all internal/external communications
- Contribute positively and constructively to the Future Logistics Network Team
About You
- Professional work experience in Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
- Material handling equipment project experience
- Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, training & qualifications (desirable)
- PM Qualification such as PRINCE2 (desirable)

- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 day a week remote working
