New Fixed Term Contract Position for a Management Accountant to join a team for 1 year based in Redhill.
Description
Responsible to produce monthly draft management accounts for review by senior management.
- Delivery of added value analysis that assists the senior management in decision making during the year (eg: development and monitoring detailed course costing models).
- Responsible for the preparation and input of month end journals (accruals, payroll data etc).
- Responsible to produce month end trial balance data from the accounts package and uploading this data into the management accounts database.
- Responsible for updating the schedules within the management accounts pack.
- Responsible for providing the written commentary that accompanies the figures presented in the management accounts pack ensuring it can be easily understood by non-financial users.
- Responsible to produce monthly reports for departmental budget holders.
- Responsible for uploading budget data into the accounts system to control the purchasing of goods and services of each department.
- Aiding in the formulation of the yearly budget through the production of income, pay and non-pay expenditure supporting schedules and monitoring of the budget database.
- Production of reports, analysis and interpretation of data to provide meaningful management information to Executive and budget holders.
- Organisation of own workload in order that internal and external deadlines are adhered to, in particular the monthly period end timetable.
- Involvement in the review and update of the Finance Procedures, with a view to improving efficiency, and the maintenance thereof.
Profile
- Experience of producing regular reports, as well as the production of high level spreadsheets and pivot tables used by managers as an information tool
- Data analysis skills and understanding of Basic Accounting principles
- Knowledge of month end procedures and basic understanding of purpose of monthly management accounts
- Part Qualified and may be working towards an accountancy degree.
