The primary role as Key Account Manager is to maximise growth in revenue for the business by building and managing a selection of their existing key and strategic accounts whilst identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities in this Key Account Manager role:
- Develop and implement the business development strategy to achieve ambitious growth goals in the UK and internationally
- Ensure KPIs, budgets and targets are met.
- Manage a selection of the company's key and strategic accounts, developing strong, positive relationships, building brand loyalty and providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Seek opportunities to re-engage dormant accounts, learning from their previous experiences.
- Identify new business opportunities with a strategic approach and long-term view.
- Grow and diversify the company's distributor network to enhance market reach and penetration.
- Assess, roll out and manage an agent/rep network in the UK and US.
- Improve sell through, monitoring and analysing stock levels and implement strategy to reduce stock profitably.
- Proactively meet with existing and potential customers to present new collections and assist with selections and range-planning, where necessary.
- Work closely with other sales team members to help them maintain and grow existing customer accounts.
- Work closely with Operations team to assist with stock forecasting and to ensure orders are delivered accurately and efficiently to customer requirements.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity, identifying new product opportunities and potential hurdles/barriers to growth.
Experience & skills required for the role:
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a similar wholesale Account Management/Business Development role within consumer products.
- Experience of working within toy, greetings or related lifestyle product is desirable
- Experience of working with B2B and UK key accounts is essential. Experience in developing, driving and delivering new business in the UK and internationally is desirable
- A passion for brand and product and a love of retail, with a commercial and strategic approach.
- A first-class communicator and excellent relationship builder, both internally and externally, at all levels.
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, deadline driven approach with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a KPI driven environment.
- Energetic, personable and efficient manner that reflects the ethos of the brand.
- Excellent attention to detail and the desire to always go the extra mile.
- Good understanding of forecasting and sales reporting, with the ability to analyse sales figures.
