We are seeking a Production Manager to join our team. Established in 1983, we are a family-owned, UK-based electronics design and manufacturing company, recognised as a world leader in power quality products, solar photovoltaic systems, and refrigeration controls. The successful candidate will provide leadership, organise workloads, and ensure work is produced to the agreed quality standard and within the agreed timeframe, while promoting and enforcing lean manufacturing processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage a production team in the building of electrical/electronic equipment and PCB assembly.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and requirements, analysing results and implementing corrective action to continuously improve the working environment.
  • Plan, organise, and coordinate resources to meet production requirements.
  • Investigate and analyse all production-related issues to ensure ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Lead, manage, and develop all employees within the production department.
  • Liaise with other departments to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure production documents are accurate and complete.
  • Generate KPIs and make recommendations for improvements and corrective actions to enhance operational excellence.
  • Ensure the production department complies with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Travel to other production facilities in Egypt and the Far East, sometimes at short notice, with trip durations not normally exceeding one week.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree level education or equivalent with a proven track record within the electrical/electronic production industry.
  • Knowledge of implementing continuous improvement programmes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to listen to and influence peer group and department team members to build and lead effective working teams.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to analyse data and interpret information effectively.
  • Organisational skills to ensure tasks are carried out in a timely manner.
  • Proficient IT skills (email, all MS Office software including Project and PowerPoint).

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary in the range of £40k to 50k per annum.
  • Working hours from 07:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • 22 days annual leave, plus 3 discretionary days between Christmas and New Year.
  • Eligibility to join the company pension scheme after a qualifying period, with company contributions.
