Do you hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for secondary or an equivalent teaching certification?

Can you create and deliver engaging, innovative lesson plans that meet curriculum standards?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our team in Blackburn. In this role, you will support students in KS3 and KS4, contributing to our mission of promoting academic excellence and empowering our students. The daily pay rate for this position ranges from £155 to £230, depending on your experience, qualifications, and teaching level.

In this role, your primary objective will be to deliver high-quality science education that inspires and engages students, helping them to achieve their academic potential and develop a deep understanding of scientific concepts. You will also have the opportunity to inspire and nurture the next generation of scientists, helping them to develop critical thinking skills and a lifelong love for learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Be an inspiring and engaging communicator

Personal attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
