Reed Business Support in Cambridge are seeking a Reception Administrator to join a dedicated team at a community GP practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for their patients, guiding them to access the appropriate services with efficiency and compassion. This role is pivotal in maintaining a positive and professional image of the practice, supporting their mission to deliver the highest standard of care within the evolving landscape of the NHS.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Greet and direct all patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
  • Provide an effective and efficient reception service to patients and visitors.
  • Handle general enquiries, explain procedures and manage follow-up appointments as required.
  • Use judgment and communication skills to manage urgent consultation requests in a logical manner.
  • Inform new patients about practice arrangements and ensure completion of necessary procedures.
  • Process requests for appointments, home visits, and telephone consultations, directing callers to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Accurately record and manage patient information and requests.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection protocols.
  • Support the practice team by covering colleagues during absences and undertaking additional duties as requested.
