PA to the Headteacher

Academics are looking for a PA (Personal Assistant) to work closely with the school's headteacher. Your role will be to support the headteacher in successfully and effectively running the school through a series of various tasks. Academics are looking for an individual who is not scared of hard work, and can easily adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

This ambitious secondary school in Caerphilly has high standards and strives for excellence. This is a Monday to Friday role with the working hours of 8am-4pm. This long-term role starts on the 4th November 2024, and will run until the end of the 2024/25 academic year. If both parties are happy, the school will be looking to take you on a permanent contact for the 2025/26 academic year (if not before). This rewarding role is perfect for someone who is looking to make a difference for students and school performance.

Roles and Responsibilities (PA to the Headteacher):

  • Oversee the management of the headteachers diary, handling communications (e.g., calls, emails, post), organising travel and hotel arrangement, liaising with external stakeholders (e.g., parents, agencies).
  • Proactively chase specific information needed from senior leaders and staff.
  • Manage the headteachers schedule to ensure a smooth operation of the school, and efficient use of the headteachers time.
  • Discreetly handle confidential and sensitive information.

Essential Skills & Qualifications (PA to the Headteacher):

  • Experience as a PA or in an administrative role (ideally in an education setting)
  • Strong communication (including strong excellent written and verbal skills)
  • Able to work both independently and part of a team
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Outlook)

Desirable Skills & Qualifications (PA to the Headteacher):

  • Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate degree
  • Valid DBS (This check can be produced through us if needed)
  • SIMS (School Information Management Systems) experience
