Full-Time Graduate Learning Support Assistant

Position: Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Secondary School, Lewisham

Start Date: September (New School Year)

Daily Rate: £95.00 - £110.00

Description: Are you a recent graduate with a degree in Psychology, Mathematics, or Science? Do you have a passion for supporting children in an educational environment? A secondary school in Lewisham is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join our team for the new school year starting in September.

Responsibilities:

  • Support SEN Students: Work closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), providing tailored support to meet their individual learning requirements.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in the mainstream classroom, helping to create an inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Individual and Group Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals.
  • Behaviour Management: Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive and productive classroom atmosphere.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources to support lesson plans and student activities.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and participating in parent-teacher meetings as needed.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Psychology, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
  • A strong passion for education and supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
