Cloud Data Engineer

An emerging fintech business is seeking a Data Engineer to join their innovative team. The role involves maintaining and improving data pipelines, creating new data models, and supporting data analysis for business intelligence.

  • Job Type: Full-time

  • Location: Newcastle-upon-Tyne

  • Hybrid working, 2 days per week in office

  • Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + 10% annual bonus

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Maintain and enhance existing MS Fabric data pipelines.
  • Develop new MS Fabric pipelines to integrate various data sources.
  • Monitor and optimise daily SQL procedures to ensure efficiency and reliability.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop new warehouse models for MI PBI dashboards.
  • Work with other developers to transition legacy reporting data into MS Fabric.
  • Meet the data requirements of the MI department by providing accurate and timely data.
  • Partner with the Data Science department to generate summary data that aids in their analysis.
  • Handle data requests optimally using MS Fabric data tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer within a fintech or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Fabric and its application in data pipeline development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL procedures.
  • Experience in creating data models and warehouse solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments to meet data needs.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools, particularly MI PBI dashboards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
