We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to provide essential maintenance support to our fantastic client's production department, ensuring that plant machinery and site facilities are kept in optimal working order. This role is crucial in minimising equipment downtime by attending to breakdowns swiftly and performing preventive maintenance tasks.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Uphold Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (OHSE) standards by actively participating in training and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping and hygiene in line with company expectations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities as scheduled, including machinery maintenance to OEM specifications and recording work carried out.
  • Respond to breakdowns with effective problem-solving techniques, prioritising issues and engineering solutions to recurring problems.
  • Lead or participate in site projects aimed at improving operations, within budget constraints.
  • Operate within prescribed quality standards and systems, completing all necessary paperwork with accuracy.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the training and development of apprentices and co-workers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Holder of 18th Edition wiring regulations.
  • Experience in a production environment.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC motors, drives, PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Office tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing environment.

Shift patterns are as follows:

  • Monday - Friday: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00
