Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a Finance Assistant for a market leading tech business based in Manchester. The business is a profitable and fast moving entrepreneurial business which has grown substantially year on year and will continue to do so in line with their strategic plan. They have seen continuous growth over the past few years whilst maintaining an outstanding reputation in the market. My client requires a pro-active, enthusiastic team player who will be working closely with the Management Accountant and assist the wider Finance and Commercial teams by supporting with Accounts Receivable and Payable functions, bank reconciliations, month end tasks and running daily/weekly reports. This is a varied role with plenty to keep you interested!

The successful person will be driven and determined in completion of their duties, as well as looking to find ways that can improve processes and how they do things. The role will be fundamentally important to the core operation of the business, presenting a real opportunity to improve cashflow for the business and ultimately providing a big impact on the company success and achievement of targets.

Key responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:

  • Completion of Month End tasks
  • Producing reports with insightful commentary where required
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Cashflow Management
  • Processing Supplier Invoices & Statements
  • Escalation of non-payments from customers
  • Identifying ways of improvement
  • Ad hoc duties

Required skills and experience of the Finance Assistant:

  • Someone wanting to undertake CIMA or ACCA qualification or is currently a part qualified CIMA or ACCA individual
  • Strong Numerical skillset
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite (in particular excel)
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Clear Communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Ability to prioritise workload and remain organised whilst meeting tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience in a Credit Control or Customer Service role in a B2C environment would be desirable
